Amber and her next edition of A Bride's Story is back this week. Believe it or not, we are less than 2 months away from Amber's Wedding...it's getting close.

Hello, my friends! It has been far too long since my last post and for that I truly apologize. I told Laurie that I would have this done last week, but I have learned that if I don’t write things down as soon as I say them…I am going to forget! August and September have been whirlwinds so far, I have traveled so much that at one point I had spent more nights away from home than in my own bed. I am not complaining though because I still love my job more than I ever could have dreamed and I am learning so much as I navigate this new position in the company!

Since we last spoke, Dan and I have had our engagement photos done, have done our tasting and chosen the menu, I have had my SC bridal shower, we have sent out our invitations, and settled on centerpieces!! I will start from the top so I don’t miss anything.

Engagement photos: I have told you all time and again how talented and amazing Susan Crutchfield is, but after taking and viewing our engagement photos, I can never say enough! She has such an amazing eye and even though we had no idea what we were supposed to be doing, she was so patient and kind and guided us through the whole process with grace! We started at the Battery Park Book Exchange where we got engaged and took a few on Wall St., where we had lunch at Early Girl Eatery that day, and finished up at the new location for my company’s expansion. It was so much fun to revisit those places and tell the stories again to Susan and her sisters/helpers. After we were done in Asheville with the photos, we drove to Savannah for our menu tasting. We tried a lot of scrumptious food and settled on our menu after some deliberation! When you’re marrying a chef it can be hard to come to a decision sometimes!

On to the SC bridal shower! NY was very laid back and cool, SC was a little fancier (in a fabulous way) and since I wasn’t a huge fan of all the games, the girls agreed to keep the games to one shower – this one! They kept away from the super cheesy ones and we had a lot of fun. My family traveled up from FL and a friend traveled from GA, my mom had a few friends that hadn’t seen me since I was a wee little thing come too, which was fun! Lynne and my mom did a great job on the decorations and the food and Rachel nailed it with the games. I cannot even express how lucky I am to have so many people who love and care about me!

Shortly after the shower we were able to get the invitations out, being a destination wedding it is recommended to get invites out 8-10 weeks before the wedding to allow people to make travel plans and such. Since we are getting married the week before Thanksgiving, I also wanted to allow people an extra week to figure it all out. The designs of the invitations were exactly what I wanted and while I did choose to be a little snarky on the bottom of the RSVPs (because you all know how I feel about RSVPs) the feedback I am getting is exactly as I expected, a lot of laughs and people are loving it! I was hoping that people would understand that while I was being a little sarcastic, it was all in good fun, so far that is a complete success!

I will leave centerpiece discussion until the big recap after the wedding where I will share some photos of how it all turned out! My next big thing is my first dress fitting, today, which I will also save for next time. Everyone think thin!

Until next time, friends

Don't forget to check back tomorrow when we sit down with Brittanie Cockrell of Pine Island Country Club for our next Vendor Spotlight.  Until next time, don't forget to share you love on Facebook and Instagram!
