Hello!

Today is the official launch of LAURIELOUIS.COM, formerly known as LJL Designs. LaurieLouis.com is an online stationery and gift boutique based in Indian Land, South Carolina. It started as a part-time hobby with a small line of customized notecards and with its new name and branding launch today, LaurieLouis.com is now your home for wedding invitations, shower and party invitations, notecards and gifts. If you are looking for a style that never gets old and always feels like home, LaurieLouis.com is for you. So who is Laurie Louis...I was born and raised in a small town in North Carolina. I grew up in a family that lived and breathed baseball. As long as I can remember, I have always loved going to stationery and gifts stores to look at the different designs and unique gifts. After the purchase of my first Mac, I found my love of designing different invitations and graphic design and I haven’t looked back.

I was taught to appreciate the little things in life and I believe that this is your life and you should enjoy what you are doing. The world around you is complicated enough, so keep your life simple. Always be happy in your own skin, whether that’s dresses and heels or jeans and tennis shoes. I enjoy that worn out sweatshirt on the weekends and the memories that it brings. I enjoy the new and improved but always respect the old that got you there.

They say you can always tell a lot about the person by looking at what’s on their Ipod. Well, after moving into a new house that I love in July, I can’t tell you where my Ipod is but I can tell you if you turn the radio on in my car, the presets are: (1) The Highway, (2) MLB Radio-Braves Network, (3) Prime Country, (4) ESPN Radio and (5) The 60’s. My summer trips have changed from lounging on the beach to going to see awesome concerts featuring Chris Young, Luke Bryan and Brad Paisley, baseball games and great conferences learning about the stationery industry.

Finally, after 24 years of working in sports television and creating designs in my spare time, I have decided to follow my own advice – to be sure to always follow your passion because it will lead you where you want to go. As of today, I will be running LaurieLouis.com full-time with promises of lots of new and exciting things to come.

In August of 2013, I attended Stationery Academy in Dallas,Texas. It was my first ever stationery conference and the turning point for what I soon learned would be my future. I met a wonderful group of amazing women and instructors (Whitney English and Natalie Chang) who have continually helped and supported me in my new journey. After 2.5 very intensive and fun days, I came home with my head spinning but with a definite plan for the future. I have spent the last 8 months working with Ashlee Proffitt to build a new brand design and a new website look to go with a new name.

As you can imagine with any new business, everything is a work in progress. With that said, I will be adding new wedding invitation designs and gift ideas to the store on a weekly basis until everything is added. I am so excited about my new name and look that I didn't want to wait until my shop was fully updated to share everything with you.

So, if you are dreaming of a wonderful wedding, looking for that unique gift for your best friend, or you love reading blogs, my hope is that you will find what you are looking for here. Along with the new designs that I will be posting, my goal is to blog 3 times a week and periodically on the weekends. Mondays will be - Mom's Menu Mondays and will feature one of my mom's favorite recipes. Wednesdays will be - Wedding Wednesdays and will feature everything from venues, caterers and florists to trends and colors for the coming season. Fridays will be - Fun Fridays and will feature everything from new music, new television shows or that favorite piece of furniture that I have found. And of course, given my love of sports, especially baseball - there will be the occasional Sports Saturday/Sunday.

Thank you for stopping by and check back Wednesday for the next addition.
