Fun Fridays - Summer Reading

Well day number 5 on the Florida coast and what better subject to write about than Summer Reading Lists.  If you have checked out my About Me page, you will notice a picture at the bottom of my favorite authors.  They are all romance authors and generally tend to write in similar style.  I have my favorite authors like Susan Mallery, Jill Shalvis, Kristan Higgins and Shannon Stacey that I tend to blog stalk and as soon as I see they have a new book out, I preorder it.  Then they are the other authors that I find when Amazon posts my suggested reading list.  Hence, why if you were to check the Kindle on my IPad right now, you would still find about 40 unread books and I have been reading every day since I got here. So, why are these authors my favorite.  Generally, I love their style of writing and the series that they write.  In the case of Susan Mallery, I love her Fools Gold series.  Although the books are okay on their own, my suggestion is to start with book one and read all the way through.  You will love the town of Fools Gold and some of you will wish you lived there too.

With Jill Shalvis, my favorite series is her Lucky Harbor Series.  This series started with the first three books about three sisters:  Maddie, Tara and Chloe.  Ten books later, I can't wait for the next one:  It's In His Kiss, which comes out later this summer.

I found Kristan Higgins, when I found the book - Just One of the Guys suggested by Amazon.  After loving the first book, I went back and started with Kristan's first book and read them all the way through.  I just finished Waiting on You and can't wait for her next book.

Shannon Stacey writes a series about the Kowalski Family that I love.  Although she has written nine books in the series, they don't all take place in the same town.  As she runs out of family in one town, she moves on to a new town with more single family members.  My suggestion with this series, start with book number 1:  Exclusively Yours and read them through.

You may also want to check out Cheryl Douglas and some of her series.  I love her Nashville Nights and Nashville Nights Next Generation series but right now, I can't wait for her next Texas Titans book.  And don't forget Kate Perry.  Although she has several series, my favorite is her Laurel Heights series.

So, if you are looking for books to read this summer - check out these authors.  I hope you love them as much as I do.
